About the Position
Reports to: Manager Software Development
Mindfield Consulting Corp. helps build and support custom and open-sourced enterprise-level applications for customers throughout North America. We have a development and support team that work hard to ensure customers’ needs are met. We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst as well as a Technical Lead for our existing and new solutions.
As a Business Systems Analyst, the successful candidate will be responsible for helping with capturing business requirements from customers and designing business applications from UI to data design to meet that need. Strong relationship-building and communication skills are a must.
As a Technical Lead, the successful candidate will be taking over from an existing Technical Lead who is moving on to other roles. The successful candidate will be responsible for learning the solution architecture for Mindfield’s existing systems and becoming the primary point person for any inquiries about the design, and also for designing any next generation solutions. Our existing systems is a combination of Linux/PHP-based web application systems and Windows .NET enterprise systems. Therefore, a wide breadth of technical skills in software development/debugging, data analysis, database design, business intelligence reporting, cloud infrastructure, BSD/Linux/Windows OSes, and networking is very desirable. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable in drawing from this wide technical breadth to come up with practical solutions for our customers.

This role allows you to grow into a Technology Solution Architect. The successful candidate is already a technical expert but this role provides ample opportunity to manage meet with customers, help them problem-solve, help team-members succeed, and achieve targets.

Year 1 Objectives
Serve as the Business Systems Analyst on an exciting custom financial services application enhancement project. Working with hybrid project team comprised of Mindfield and customer resources, provide the following:
- Gather and document business requirements
- Learn the overall solution design and how it meets the business requirements
- Define UI & Technical Requirements to meet the solution design
- Assist development team and QA team with testing and debugging
- Effort Estimates
- Learn the overall architecture in anticipation of more enhancements in future
Serve as the technical point person on at least 1 custom enterprise software project. This includes:
- attending and sometimes leading regular team meetings
- managing code branches and sprints
- debugging and managing issue tickets
- providing code reviews
- create runbook operations manual
Serve as the technical point person on Mindfield’s education application products.
- Create technology roadmap for the products
